“Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.”
James 1:2-4 NIV
Wednesday night’s walk and talk was so powerful. With all of the pauses we initially experienced I knew it would have to be very powerful. The Holy Spirit revealed that the enemy was using the interruptions to attempt to distract individuals, but to hold on. In actuality, the pauses made writing the blog post quite simple as it also relates to the subject matter of Coach Corey’s message.
There were a couple of things said in the walk and talk that really resonated with me. They were (a) DEVELOPMENT OF PRODUCTIVE HABITS and (b) HAVING A VERY SPECIFIC PRAYER LIFE. One has to humble himself first and you will definitely begin hearing from heaven (II Chronicles 7:14).
The instructions contained within the verse do say “seek my face and turn from their wicked ways.” In my opinion, His strength will be provided in order to fully complete this instruction. And because you have to individually identify your own “wicked ways” one will indeed need aide from The Holy Spirit to give you the courage to do so as well as the “super” to your “natural”.
I’m definitely going to step outside of my comfort zone, so I will start all of those who may not know exactly how to be SPECIFIC in your prayers. But please be aware that prayer IS NOT a monologue, but rather a dialogue. One must prepare their hearts to believe whatever He says; much like Mary (Jesus’ mother) said in John 2:5.
Think of your prayer life like that of talking to a close and trusted friend. Say something to the effect of how grateful you are to have someone to share your personal information with and simply go into great detail about it. And because you truly gain confidence in the prayers, begin exercising Habakkuk 2:2-3. I know from experience. It WORKS!
